I had the privilege of meeting professional photographer Jim Brown in Casper, Wyoming, where I visited his stunning gallery, High Plains Reflections. Jim, a Wyoming native with over 45 years of experience, is renowned for his award-winning nature and wildlife photography, capturing the raw beauty of the Teton Mountains, Devils Tower, and the high plains. His work, which includes striking images of wild horses, bison, and birds, has earned accolades such as Nature’s Best Publications Winner and Smithsonian’s Top 5 Wildlife Photographs. The photograph I used as a reference for this painting is a testament to Jim’s ability to convey the untamed spirit of nature, inspiring my own brushstrokes to reflect the same depth and emotion.
